Welcome to Lifestyle Wednesday!
I got this idea from two of my best friends! I thought it was one of the best ideas for couples or even families... I had to share. The idea is simple, the implementation takes dedication. For one year when something funny, romantic, sweet, memorable, happy etc happens write it down and put it in the jar.
I used a spare jar. I found a cute pack of scrap paper, cut it up and folded it into little note cards. We keep it in the living room where we will hopefully remember to keep adding to it.
My friends, Chrystina and Rachel, are recently engaged and absolutely loved doing this. They found it to be super fun and a great way to connect with each other. The idea is you start this on New Years Day and read the notes on the next New Years Day. However, I think it is a great idea to start any time of year! Kevin and I started ours on New Years Day 2015 and I am so excited to read these next year. I will say, the hardest part is keeping up with it . We are two months in and sometimes forget to write things down. I will often be writing two notes at time to catch up.
Planning one day a week or every other week to sit down and write down your memories is one way to stay dedicated to this year long exercise. This is a great exercise for not only couples but families too! How often do we get caught up in the everyday activities and don't enjoy the little memories and experiences together? How many of us are saying "wow that year went fast"? This is such a great way to remember your year and spend some quality time with the ones you love!
Check back for Photo Friday!
